Resound Networks Breaks Ground on Aerial Fiber Project in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma

Network Expansion

State officials join community leaders to celebrate milestone in rural connectivity.

On Friday, April 25, Resound Networks officially broke ground on our new aerial fiber project in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. The ceremony, held at Larry West Memorial Park, marked the beginning of a transformative initiative that will bring high-speed internet access to this rural community by the end of 2025.

Lone Wolf represents the first of twenty projects totaling $39.6 million for high-speed internet expansion in 14 counties across Oklahoma, supported by the Oklahoma Broadband Office (OBO) and Resound Networks.

A Community Milestone

The groundbreaking brought together state officials, local leaders, and community members to celebrate this significant step toward closing the digital divide in rural Oklahoma. Oklahoma State Representative Gerrid Kendrix and State Senator Brent Howard joined representatives from the Oklahoma Broadband Office and Resound Networks leadership to turn the first ceremonial shovels of dirt.

“At Resound Networks, we believe every community—no matter how small or remote—deserves access to the tools that power modern life. Today’s groundbreaking in Lone Wolf is more than just the start of a construction project; it’s a promise to the people of Oklahoma that we’re here to deliver reliable, high-speed internet where it’s needed most. We’re proud to partner with the Oklahoma Broadband Office to bridge the digital divide and invest in the future of rural communities across this great state,” said Tyson Curtis, CEO, Resound Networks.

Closing the Digital Divide

The Lone Wolf aerial fiber project addresses a critical need in rural Oklahoma, where many communities lack access to reliable high-speed internet. This infrastructure will provide:

  • Speeds up to 1 Gbps for residential and business customers
  • Reliable connectivity for telehealth services and remote work
  • Enhanced educational opportunities for students at all levels
  • New digital capabilities for local businesses and agricultural operations

State officials celebrated the groundbreaking, stating that access to high-speed internet is no longer a luxury—it’s essential infrastructure for the 21st century.

“Today’s launch marks more than the rollout of broadband infrastructure – it’s the foundation of opportunity, growth, and connection in every corner of Oklahoma. With each mile of broadband service we extend, we’re not just closing a digital gap; we’re igniting a future where our communities thrive, and prosperity abounds.” said OBO Executive Director Mike Sanders.

This project demonstrates what’s possible when private companies like Resound Networks partner with state and local stakeholders to address the needs of rural communities.

Technology that Serves People

While the groundbreaking celebrated the technical infrastructure coming to Lone Wolf, speakers emphasized that the project’s true value lies in how it will serve the community’s people.

“Our aerial fiber technology allows us to deploy high-speed internet efficiently while maintaining exceptional reliability,” explained Resound Director of OSP Engineering and Construction, Dennis Durden. “But what truly sets Resound apart is our commitment to the communities we serve—our blue trucks aren’t just bringing technology; they’re bringing genuine human connection.”

Looking Ahead

Construction on the Lone Wolf aerial fiber project begins immediately, with service expected to be available to residents and businesses by the end of 2025. The project represents Resound’s ongoing commitment to bridging the digital divide in rural America.

Following the ceremonial groundbreaking, attendees enjoyed a lunch at the Lone Wolf Senior Center and the opportunity to learn more about the technology and timeline for bringing this service to their community.
